Theodicy Problem

  1. If God exists, he is all-knowing, all-powerful, and perfectly good.
  2. The existence of suffering is incompatible with the existence of God.
  3. Suffering exists.
  4. God does not exist.

    Unless, of course, suffering is part of some mysterious Grand Plan (which is the explanation often given). The assumption here is that life could exist and be meaningful without suffering. I’m not sure that’s true.
